MESA - Zachary Hunter Sims, aged 35, passed away on December 30,
2024, in Mesa, Arizona.
Born on June 21, 1989,
Zachary’s vibrant spirit
and engaging personali-
ty left a lasting impact on
all who knew him.
Zachary was an intel-
ligent, funny, and generous individual, known for his athleticism and artistic talents, particularly
in skateboarding and art. He was a graduate of
Hononegah High School and furthered his education at the University of New Mexico, where he continued to explore and develop his diverse interests.
His hobbies included reading, creating art, skate-boarding, and landscaping, each of which he approached with passion and dedication. Zachary’s caring and loyal nature made him a cherished
friend and family member.
He is survived by his mother, Susan Sims; his
older sister, Emily Sims; his younger brother, Levi Sims; his maternal grandmother, Elizabeth Mc-
Namara and her husband, Luverne McNamara;
and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends
who will miss him dearly. Zachary was preceded
in death by his maternal grandfather, Ivan Twamley; his paternal grandfather, David Sims; and his
girlfriend, Jennifer Wietz.
A chapel memorial was held in his honor on January 3, 2025, where family and friends gathered
to celebrate his life and legacy. Zachary’s memory
will forever be cherished and remembered by all who were fortunate enough to know him.
