Celebrating the Life of
May 23, 1954 — June 9, 2024
William Leo "Bill" Jordan, born on May 23, 1954, in Detroit, Michigan, passed away at home on June 9, 2024, at the age of 70, following a fierce battle with a rare brain disease. He passed peacefully at his home in East Wenatchee, Washington surrounded by
loved ones.
Bill is survived by his sisters Nancy Jordan of California and Barbara (Jim) Wroe of Michigan. His brothers Don (Marie) Jordan, Robert Jordan, and brother-in-law Bill Kenney of Michigan. His daughters Victoria Reams and Cynthia Neumann and his grandchildren
Tyler, Hailey, Marissa, and Kamryn of Washington. He also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, "bonus" family members and dear friend Janet Jordan.
He was preceded in death by his mother Iris Jordan, father Donald Jordan, sister Marlene Kenney, nephew Robert Jordan and granddaughter Ivy Neumann.
Bill grew up in Dearborn Heights, MI and attended Crestwood High School. He joined the US Navy in 1971, serving four years, including time aboard the USS Nitro off the shores of Vietnam. He later enlisted with the US Army in 1976, where he served until his
retirement as a Master Sergeant in 1992.
While stationed at Ft. Lewis in 1990, Bill met and married his third wife Janet who had two young daughters, Vicki and Cindy. They divorced in 2007 but remained close as adventure buddies and co-grandparents until the time of his passing.
After retiring from the military, Bill and his family relocated to Okanogan, Washington where he worked as a department manager at the Omak Walmart until his retirement in 2013. He made numerous dear friends and great memories in his time at the store and many
of those friendships continued after he moved to Wenatchee, WA in 2014 to be closer to his grandchildren.
Bill was an avid sports fan, particularly of the Detroit Lions and Red Wings, Seattle Seahawks, Mariners and the WSU Cougars. He enjoyed playing softball during his military service and continued to play after his retirement in local leagues. Bill loved to
travel and very much enjoyed playing the odds at the casino slot machines.
Above all else, Bill cherished his family. He had incredible relationships with his siblings and spent endless hours on phone calls and face time with them catching up and reminiscing. Among Bill's favorite memories were his travels with his sisters and trips
back to Michigan for family events. Even though they were separated by the miles, Bill always had his family close to his heart.
He never missed an opportunity to spend time with his children and grandchildren. Papa Bill, as he was known to the kids, was an absolute blessing in their lives. He always put the grandkids first and he never missed an opportunity to support them in everything
they did. Papa could always be counted on to be at every school function, sporting event, dance recital or important milestone in their lives. He was the best Papa a kid could ever wish for and the legacy he has left behind will continue to shape them as
they grow into adults. The same can be said for his daughters, who couldn’t have asked for a more invested father figure.
Bill's entire life was marked by the deep connections he made, the light he brought to the world and the stories he loved to share. He will always be remembered for his sense of humor, kindness and the unwavering support he showed his family and closest friends.
