Celebrating the Life of
July 1, 1983 — January 6, 2026
Wesley Priester, born Tavaris Hargrove, passed away in San Francisco's Tenderloin neighborhood, a community he called home.
Born in 1983, Wesley was welcomed into the loving home of Agnes and Lennis Priester as a foster child at nine months of age in 1984. He was formally adopted in 1988, taking the name Wesley Priester. He attended Windsor Forest High School in Savannah, Georgia, before moving to San Francisco in 2002.
Over the years, Wesley lived in several California communities, including Oakland and Santa Rosa, but it was in the Tenderloin where he put down roots and built lasting connections. Despite facing significant health challenges throughout his life, Wesley was known for his smile, his energy, his generous spirit, and his willingness to help others with whatever he had to give.
He had a deep love for animals, especially dogs, and found joy in their companionship.
Wesley is survived by his father, Lennis Priester; several siblings and cousins; his beloved dog; and the many friends he made at the Post St Apartments and throughout the Tenderloin in San Francisco.
Even in the brief time since his passing, Wesley is already deeply missed. His warmth and kindness left a lasting mark on all who were fortunate enough to know him.
Please share a photo or video, or post a heartfelt condolence to the family.
