Our beloved Wanda Kaye Dickerson Edwards, age 62, went to be with the Lord on Friday, September 6, 2024 at Wendover Hospice House after fighting a two year battle with cancer. She was raised in Bessemer City, North Carolina and most recently lived in Kings Mountain, North Carolina. Wanda was preceded in death by her parents Rosa Lee Traylor Burkett and Stanley Robert Dickerson. She is survived by her children, Donna, Marty [Spouse- Rebekah], Candy [Partner- Mike], and Adam [Spouse- Ashlee]. She is also survived by her seven grandchildren and one great grandchild as well as her siblings Gene, Sue, Richard, Doug, Marshall and Tammy.

Wanda was known for her strength and resilience until the very end. She loved waking up early on Saturday mornings to explore the yard sales around town. It brought her great joy to find little treasures to give to her children and grandchildren. Her greatest treasure, however, was being a mother to her four children. She loved them with all her heart and dedicated her life to raising them. She also adored her grandchildren, her mother and her close friends. Her family is grateful the battle is over and she is now fully healed. She will be sorely missed.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, September 14, 2024 at Sandyford Freewill Baptist Church located at 615 Sandyford Road Mount Holly, North Carolina. Flowers may be sent directly to the church.
