Celebrating the Life of
December 31, 1956 — March 18, 2024
Walden Green, fondly known as Walt, was born on December 31, 1956, to his parents Leon Wilson and Ethel Louise Green. He graduated from Clearwater High School.
He worked many years in Tampa as a beloved employee of Bright House Cable. But it was his faith in God that would go on to shape his life, form his identity, and inspire him to be a zealous minister.
Walden loved talking about his heavenly father, Jehovah God. As a young man, he learned of God’s warm qualities such as love, mercy, joy, and compassion. As an adult, he sought to share what he learned with others. This included the Bible’s promises of a future with perfect health, being reunited with dead loved ones, and the earth being restored to a beautiful paradise.
Gregarious by nature, Walt never met a stranger. He loved visiting with his friends and family, sharing hearty laughs, eating good food, and working in his garden. He cherished time spent relaxing in his backyard, listening to music, and playing with his pets.
Sadly, he passed away on March 18, 2024 at the age of 67 after a brief illness. He is preceded in death by his mother, Ethel Louise Green, and his brother, LaVelle Green. He is survived by his father, Leon Wilson (Julia); daughter, Patience Green; and his brothers Gregory Green (Ruth), Mose Kendrick, Bryan Wilson, and Lavaris Wilson. Sisters, Denise Angelro (Victor), Maunyoh Mitchell (Michael), Mia Smith (Cicero), Sylvia Knighton, and Mashunda Wilson; a host of nieces and nephews, cousins, dear friends and an extensive spiritual family.
Walden’s hope was firmly anchored in the Bible’s promises and he was completely convinced of their reality. He knew he would live again, and continue to enjoy all that he loved: beautiful music, tasty foods, good laughs, productive gardening, taking care of animals, time with family and friends, reunions with loved ones, and most importantly, praising Jehovah God.
But in perfect health, forever.
We look forward to the day when we can enjoy it with him! —John 5:28, 29; Revelation 21:3-5
