Tomeka LaShae Vickers born on March 25, 1980, at Memorial Hospital in Hollywood, FL. She was the 3rd child of Herman and Beverly Vickers. Tomeka gave her life to the Lord at a young age, her journey on this earth was one marked by love, compassion, and her unwavering faith in God. Her legacy is cherished by her mother, (sister) Kisha (Drake), (brothers) Herman and Alex (Keshawn), 1 Grandmother, Ms Eunise, 5 Nieces, 7 Nephews, 1 great niece, 1 great nephew, 4 uncles, 8 aunts, 3 great aunts, 1 great uncle, a host of cousins, family and friends. She was a shining light in the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her passing has left a void in the hearts of her family, friends, and many more whose lives were touched by her. Although Tomeka may no longer be with us, the light she brought into this world will never fade. We will forever carry her loving memories in our hearts. I am truly saddened 😭 and hurt 😢 that Tomeka is no longer here with us in the physical, but memories of her will always be in my heart throughout all of eternity. She is my brother's and her mother's baby girl and one of the strongest people I know. There are lots of things I can say about her. She is beautiful inside and out. She is very smart/intelligent. I learned a lot of things from her. She has a heart of gold and I know that when she loved, she loved hard. She is thoughtful and kind. She loves and cherishes all of her nieces and nephews and took care of them as if they were her own. In general, she loved people and she was never a stranger to anyone. We talked on the phone for several hours at a time when she was in and out of the hospital over these past years. She is a "true warrior," but we gotta remember that even "true warriors" get tired too. So, that being said, she is now at rest/peace after fighting the ills/misfortunes of this world that she left behind. She told me several times that if it was her time to leave Planet Earth, she had no problem leaving. She did not want us to be sad about her departure, but to rejoice in her freedom. She is probably crying for those of us whom she left behind because we are not free. She is a beautiful butterfly 🦋 soaring and floating in the wind for all to see and a shining star 🌟 for those of us whom she left behind in the darkness. The only thing that died was the physical body, not the spirit. Her spirit will live on throughout all of eternity. GONE WAY TOO SOON, BUT NEVER EVER TO BE FORGOTTEN! I LOVE YOU TOMEKA! 🦋💯❤️💯🦋ALWAYS AND FOREVER IN MY HEART! P.S. Tomeka's "DNA" did not die. She left it behind in all of us.
I will miss you my dear niece. You were such a beautiful spirit. 🌹 Tomeka, you were a gift, and I will love you always. ❤️ I'm so sorry you had to leave us, but I'm grateful you were here to touch our lives. 🤗 SIP angel 💕

To the Vickers family, my heart aches with the loss of Tomeka's beautiful soul. While my time knowing her only spans the last couple of years, she was a joy from the moment I was introduced to her. The way she loved her family and the fact that she had so much heart that she could share it with everyone was amazing. She will is loved and will definitely be missed. May God keep you all through this unbelievable time. Sincerely, Lesli
