Thelma Julia Dixon, Detroit, Michigan native, passed away in Sacramento, California on February 19, 2022, at the age of 66. She touched the lives of many and will be greatly missed.
Thelma was born July 25, 1955, to Roberta Long-Offord. She attended Warner Loughlin as a child. She graduated from Cooley High School in 1972. After high school, she pursued a career in the nursing field. She obtained her medical assistant certificate in 1985 and graduated from nursing school in 2004. During her career, she was a nursing instructor at Dorsey and UIT. She was an EMT driver and worked at Harper and Sinai Grace hospitals in Detroit for many years until her early retirement.
Her favorite things to do in her free time were cooking, spending time with her family and grandchildren, watching her "stories", and drinking her coffee out on the porch.
She is survived by her daughter (and son-in-law), three grandchildren, several brothers and sisters, a host of nieces and nephews, and many long-time friends and extensions of the family.
