Celebrating the Life of
March 5, 1963 — January 26, 2025
Susan Denese (Humphris) Hayden was born to Patricia Jane (Shores) Humphris and Clinton Humphris on March 5, 1963 in Wichita Falls, TX. Denese grew up in Wichita Falls graduating from S.H. Rider High School in 1981. And later from Midwestern State University, where she obtained her Accounting degree. She met her future husband, Richard Allen Hayden, while working at Radio Shack and attending Midwestern State University. She and Rich were married on August 16, 1986. They welcomed their son, Austin Allen Hayden, in 1990. In 1992 they moved, making Amarillo, Texas their home. They welcomed daughter, Haylee Elyse Hayden, in 1996. Sadly, her husband, Rich, passed away in 2005. Denese remained in Amarillo until 2020 when she made the move to Kentucky, joining her daughter and son-in-law. She remained in Kentucky until her passing.
Denese adored her Momma and Daddy and even her brother, Marc. There was never any doubt that Denese was a Daddy’s girl. She loved the beach and the water and snow. She loved to put her toes in the sand. She loved sapphires and diamonds. And music and dancing or any kind of celebration. She wouldn’t say “no” to a casino trip. She could spend hours watching tales from faraway lands. She loved cats, cats, cats and anything cobalt blue! She was always up for a new adventure, getting excited saying “Let’s go! Come on, come on!” She loved holidays with cream cheese cherry pie, deviled eggs and her brother’s stuffing. She definitely had opinions, but even these eased with time. Though not always a fan of body art, she warmed to the idea, eventually picking a black cat and even sharing a dragonfly with Haylee. Rarely were we together that we didn’t end up laughing until we cried.
She will be forever loved and always missed.
Denese is preceded in death by her mother, Patricia Jane (Shores) Humphris, husband, Richard Allen Hayden and her father, Clinton Humphris.
She is survived by her son, Austin, of Amarillo, TX. Daughter, Haylee (Hayden) Easterwood and son-in-law, Casey Joe Easterwood of Nicholasville, KY. Granddaughter, Aven Ella Phillips. Grandson, Caysen Allen Easterwood. Brother, Marc Humphris and sister-in-law, Tina (Segers) Humphris of Las Cruces, NM. Sister-in-law, Kim Centeno and brother-in-law Jose Centeno. And a great number of nieces and nephews and cousins.
