Obituary

Shauzey “Lotus” Akins tragically passed away at age 19 on August 8th, 2023. Born on April 7th, 2004, Lotus, throughout its short life, enjoyed video games, stuffed toys, animals, fashion, and occasionally photography. Lotus will forever be remembered by its loved ones as a funny, kind-hearted, caring, unique and lovable person. Lotus is survived by its long-term boyfriend, Dathan, and its pets: Sebastian, Jackie, Bean and Fitzgerald. Anyone whose lives were touched by Lotus’s passing is invited to celebrate its life on Discord on August 26th at 5 p.m. Eastern Standard Time or 3 p.m. Pacific Standard Time. In the time that I knew Lotus, it brought so much joy into my life. Memories of laughing so hard on calls till my stomach hurt and my face red, smiling at a message coming through from it. Lotus was always so kind and caring, and had the best sense of humor, even in tough times. We'll miss you, Lotus.

I considered Lotus to be one of my best friends. It was always so kind and funny, and never failed to cheer me up, even if it didn't know it was doing so. I'll always miss the time we spent together talking on call, or playing games late at night because we didn't have anything better to do. I'll miss you, Lotus.

Dylan

Lotus (Shauzey) was my best friend. We met through our mutual love of collecting stuffed animals and playing video games. I never got the chance to meet Lotus in person but I was planning a trip to go see Lotus in the next year or so. Lotus was a huge part of my life we grew very close over the year and a half we had known each other and our bond meant so much to me. Lotus was always willing to call, play games, watch shows, and just listen when i needed a friend. Lotus was the kindest and most unique person I knew. I will miss them so very much.

lotus has been an important source of laughter and joy in my life for the past year; it was there for me during the hardships i've faced over the past year. it was an honour to befriend you lotus, nay know you for all this time. i'll forever miss our hours long video chats watching a show, playing a game or just chatting. thank u for everything lotus; i hope you forever rest in peace.
