Celebrating the Life of
January 4, 1937 — January 22, 2026
Ruth Feingold, beloved mother, grandmother and sister passed away in her sleep on Thursday, January 22nd, at the age of 89. She will be greatly missed.
She was born in Hackney, England to Elias and Etty Moradoff and was raised in Golder's Green. The family emigrated to the United States, arriving on November 25th, 1953, on the Queen Elizabeth. They were among the last people to pass through Ellis Island. She, her parents, and her siblings Ivan (now deceased) and Victoria settled in Forest Hills Queens.
A graduate of Coptall County school, and Pittman's Secretarial College, Ruth was an accomplished practitioner of the lost art of shorthand and went to work at legal firms. Her first job as a legal secretary was at Walter E. Heller, located in the old Pan Am building. She left the workforce after the birth of her first daughter, and returned to it after her second daughter started kindergarten. She worked at several firms large and small until retiring from Shearman and Sterling at the age of 73.
Ruth then went on to become a background actor, working on several tv shows and films and becoming a SAG member. She loved sending out headshots and kept meticulous records. She was athletic her entire life, and her home was filled with bowling trophies and ice skating medals, including one earned in the over 50 division! She was always "dressed to the nines," and made many of her own clothes.
She remained vital and active until her early 80s, still playing tennis and going to the theater. She had many loving friends, and a hidden, goofy sense of humor. A fall at age 83 led to a slow decline. She died on her terms, in her own home, during a bout of pneumonia.
She is survived by her daughter Darcy Rebekah Beneteau and Tina Weinberg, son-in-law, Mitchell Weinberg, sister Vicki Mioduszewski, brother in-law Joe Mioduszewski, grandchildren Mariah and Ariana Mulhare and great-granddaughter Freedom Jack.
