Celebrating the Life of
July 27, 1929 — November 2, 2024
Rosemary Theresa Nassar (Joseph), 95, of Rochester, New York was called back to God on November 2nd, 2024 at Pines of Peace Comfort Care Home, surrounded by her loving family.
Rosemary was born on July 27th, 1929 in Rochester, New York, the daughter of Eva Joseph (George) and Peter Joseph.
In 1960, she volunteered as a nurse’s aid with the American Red Cross in Busan (formerly Pusan) South Korea at the Children’s Charity Hospital, bringing comfort and care to orphaned children and support to the hospital staff.
She traveled the world with her family and made friends everywhere she went, living for periods in India, Pakistan, Brazil, Lebanon, Korea, and Japan.
After moving back to the United States, she resumed her career at Rochester Telephone in 1968, where she worked until her retirement in 1994.
She is predeceased by her parents, her daughter Alissar Nassar, her son Ziad Nassar, and her siblings Sophie Casceli (Joseph), Jannette Joseph, Dolores Joseph, and George Joseph.
She is remembered by her adoring family and friends at home and abroad who are too numerous to name and will carry on her legacy and memory.
Rosemary loved cooking for her family (especially Lebanese food), reading, decorating for the holidays, parties, and time with friends. She was a true social butterfly with an open mind, a zest for life, youthful energy, and a whole lot of “sass and class”.
In lieu of flowers, we kindly request donations be made in Rosemary’s memory to Pines of Peace Comfort Care Home, whose incredible care made her final days peaceful.
For those who would like to attend the funeral service and following reception on Saturday, November 30th, 2024, we kindly ask that you RSVP via the links below.
Rosemary loved the color purple and was a vibrant spirit, so in her honor we request, if you are able, to please wear purple or something colorful rather than the traditional black to celebrate her life.
