Roberta Ann Ober was born in St. Louis, Missouri, on September 11, 1944, the only child of Robert and Pauline. Bobbie was the beloved wife and widow of Ronald Dale Van Dyke and dear mother of three daughters, Marisha Ann, Nicole Renee, and Deidre Lynn. After excelling in their corporate careers, Bobbie and Ron retired to Tucson Arizona in 2004, where they enjoyed many happy years with Deidre, mother of the three grandchildren, Ciana, Lance, and Gaige. After Ron’s passing in 2016, Bobbie relocated to Orange County, California, with Marisha and Niki, where she spent her golden years soaking up the sunshine in the Golden State. Bobbie was always an achiever, whether playing sports or in academics. In high school she enjoyed ballet, earned her letter in volleyball, sang in the choir, and won accolades for her amazing typing skills. Bobbie suffered a spinal stenosis at 54, which led to paralysis of her hands and complications with her legs, so sports were no longer a part of her world, but her tenacity and joyful spirit continued to inspire those around her. She was a devoted follower of Jesus Christ, sharing her faith with her family, and deeply loving the Lord, even though her prayers to be healed were never answered the way she had hoped. Bobbie passed quietly in the comfort of her home, surrounded by loved ones in Lake Forest, California on Sunday February 23, 2025. We know that she and Daddy are finally together again, and she is doing all the things she loves in her new glorified body, with no disabilities and no pain. A Celebration of life is planned for Saturday, May 17th, 2025.
