Celebrating the Life of
June 12, 1951 — June 11, 2023
Richard Hagen (Rick), a man with a desire to live his life to the fullest, was born on June 12, 1951, in Breckenridge, Minnesota to his parents Muriel and Kenneth Hagen. He eventually made his way south and settled into the Arizona desert life, where he lived for 30+ years. Rick passed away unexpectedly while visiting family in the Pacific Northwest on June 11, 2023, a day shy of his 72nd birthday. Known for his gregarious nature, profound generosity, and a sense of humor that could light up any room, Rick’s impact on those around him was meaningful and lasting.
Rick is survived by his son, Eric Hagen, his daughters Laura Hagen, April Philip, Lynn Weech, and Kim Hutchinson, and his 13 grandchildren, as well as his three brothers Duaine, Ron, and Gary Hagen. His absence leaves a void that cannot be filled, but the memories he created will be a constant presence in their lives.
Rick was a man with a true desire to live life to the fullest and never one to sit still. He was a prolific traveller and spent much of his time on international excursions or visiting family across the US. When not gallivanting around the globe, if Rick was not saddled up to a poker table, he could usually be found on a golf course, softball field, ski slope, hiking trail, or partaking in some sort of adrenaline boosting adventure.
Rick's life will be celebrated on December 2, 2023, at 2:00 PM at Robson Ranch, a community in which he thrived and loved. In the spirit of his generous nature, instead of flowers, a fund has been established to support "From Houses to Homes-Guatemala", a cause dedicated to improving the living conditions of highland communities in Guatemala that Rick passionately supported. Donations can be made at the following URL: https://everloved.com/life-of/richard-hagen/donate/.
Rick Hagen will be remembered for the joy he brought to this world, the help he extended to those who needed it, and the laughter he shared with everyone. His absence will be deeply felt, but his legacy will live on.

Fun times at Heavenly

Rick was very much loved by our family! A true friend and brother to my dad and mom for over 45 years! Camping trips, blackjack 21, farting contests, BBQs, tubing down the river! So many great memories! Thank you Rick for the laughs and endless good times! Until we meet again!

This was the Key ceremony of the last house building Rick participated, we will miss him 😔

This was Rick's last visit to From Houses to Homes these are Rick's sponsees at Kemna'Oj School

My condolences to the family. Rick was a great cousin and even better person. He will be missed. Rick and my father were very close so I envision a nice reunion in heaven.
While I didn’t know Rick long as we only moved to Arizona in July of 2021, I had the pleasure of meeting Rick through church where we served on council together. In the short time we knew him it was very easy to see what his passions were! He shared of his many travel adventures and he was happy to be traveling to help and visit his family. It was always fun to hear where he was going next and what he was going to be doing. Rick was one of the most generous people I have met, giving his time and talents both locally and farther away! Prayers to all of his family and friends!
