Richard G. Birchall

Richard George Birchall, 78, formerly of Westfield, NJ, and East Orleans, MA, passed away on August 9, 2024, in North Adams, MA. Born in Oak Ridge, TN, Richard practiced law as a tax attorney for most of his career in New Jersey, Connecticut, and Massachusetts.

Raised in Westfield, NJ, Richard attended The Pingry School in Basking Ridge as well as Suffield Academy in Connecticut, followed by Cornell University and The University of Toledo College of Law. He was predeceased by his parents, George and Marilyn Birchall. Richard is survived by his sister and two children.

Richard was known for being involved in community activities and volunteer work, especially later in life, around East Orleans, MA. Around the holidays, he would help a local church deliver meals to the elderly.

According to his wishes, no memorial service was held, he was cremated, and his ashes scattered in the sea.
