BACKGROUND AND EDUCATION
Olatunji Olagoke was born on the 15th of January, 1966 to the family of Mr. and Mrs. Gbadamosi Olagoke. He had his primary school education at All Saints Primary School, Osogbo and secondary school education at Saint James Secondary Grammar School, Osogbo, Osun state where he was popularly known as ‘Olobe’ for his culinary skills. After secondary school, Olatunji moved to Lagos to live with his cherished brother, Pa. Olusola Olagoke. He completed his higher education at the Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma, where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration.
FAMILY
On the 9th of March 1996, he married his longtime friend, Mrs. Abimbola Olagoke (nee Adejumo). As a husband and father, Olatunji was a very hard worker and also a strong believer in quality education. He and his wife were also very committed to instilling the right values and principles in their children. Many people who knew Olatunji would testify to how he always spoke of his children with fondness and great admiration. He always referred to them as being some of his greatest achievements in life even as God helped in raising them.
In addition to his immediate family, Olatunji had a strong relationship with his larger family and always found a way to stay in touch throughout the years. These family members include: Pa Olagoke and family (elder brother), Late Mr. Olagoke and family (elder brother), Mrs. Olagunju and family (elder sister), Late Mr. Omosowon and family (elder brother), Mrs. Adedeji and family (younger sister), the Ojekunle family (brother), the Adejumo family (in-laws) and many more.
CAREER
Olatunji had a robust professional career which spanned over three decades. He started in 1988 as a supervisor at Credit Lyonnais. From there, he moved to Universal Trust Bank where he worked as a Customer Services Officer for 6 years. Over the next years, he worked in several positions including Accounts and Finance Officer at National Clearance and Forwarding Agency (2005-2008) and Finance Manager for Project Wheel Engineering Ltd (2009-2016).
A PEOPLE PERSON AND LOVER OF LIFE
Olatunji was a great lover of people. Every circle he found himself in, social or professional, he was known for his exceptional people skills. He had a very welcoming personality and treated everyone with respect and kindness, irrespective of their age. He was also known for going out of his way to help people.
He was a true lover of the arts, good music, storytelling and history. He also enjoyed spending time with family and friends, and loved good food also.
He is survived by his wife and three children: Temiloluwa, Tolulope, and Ayotomiwa.
