Misty Lynn Cates (née Holem), aged 48, passed away on August 26, 2024, in Saginaw, Michigan. Born on July 26, 1976, Misty was known for her vibrant spirit and engaging personality.
Misty attended Doniphan Senior High School and carried her love for dynamic and creative hobbies throughout her life. She had a passion for driving cars, rock hunting, and setting up elaborate Halloween decorations. Misty cherished time spent playing with her grandchildren and had a unique hobby of collecting miniatures and signs. Known for her sense of humor, she often wore witty t-shirts and enjoyed the annual fireworks in Acadia, MI, a highlight of her year.
Family was the cornerstone of Misty's life. She is survived by her loving children, Lacey (Cody) Burns, Shane Conley, Jacob Conley, and Danica Conley; and her cherished grandchildren, Jaxson Burns, Anivia Burns, and L.R. Conley. Misty also leaves behind a legacy of love with her siblings, Linda (Bill) Allen, Trisha (Mike) O'Toole, Sheila Eagle, Pam Schmelzer, Sandy Ward, Terri (Madeline) Eagle, Don Holem, Veron Holem, and Bob (Cindi) Eagle. She was preceded in death by her parents, Margaret and George Holem, and brothers, Mike and Tom Eagle.
A celebration of Misty’s life will be held after her ashes are received by the family. The ceremony will reflect the joy and uniqueness that Misty brought into the world. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
