Mikel Neal Maynard, born 01/13/2004 in Bakersfield, California passed away in Bakersfield, California on 9/20/2022, at the young age of 18. Mikel graduated high school in 12/2021 in Hernando County, Florida after which he persued a career in the Marines. Honorably discharged for medical reasons, Mikel returned to Bakersfield, California where he worked with his father in the oil fields working on plumbing and pipes. Mikel was known to enjoy hiking with his foster mother in Florida as well as skateboarding with his friends, a skill he attained after saving up his money working at Cold Stone creamery in Tallahassee, Florida to buy a quality board with pizza slices on the wheels.
Mikel was an honest young man with his feelings and opinions on his sleeves. An idealist, he dreamed of a world where ones actions meant something; where people lived to a higher standard. Ever the realist, he was known to hold you to your word and expected/accepted no less. Intelligence that could outwit most people 20 years his senior, Mikel was a bright star who burned out too quickly.
Mikel will forever be missed by his friends and family.
