On February 7, 2014 Melvin Butts was transported from his earthly abode to the portals of Heaven by his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He was born on December 11, 1937.
Melvin is survived by his children, Jeffrey Butts of Dayton, Victoria Massey of Dayton, Mark (Brenda) Butts of Pensacola, Fla., Jim Butts of Troy and Patrick Butts of Dayton; Step-son Matthew Cardinal; siblings, Thomas Rockland, Hazel Belvo, Carol Anne Jones, Linda (Edward) Hanshaw, Juanita (Gary) Bell, William Butts, and Edward Buttsl six grandchildren, Brandy Jo Butts, Virginia Collins, Matthew Butts, Natasha Butts, Courtney Neel, and Rhianna Aguilar; and 11 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Judy Cardinal-Butts, and a son, John Butts.
Melvin was a graduate of Centerville Highschool, worked for twenty-years at Val Decker's in Piqua, Ohio before the plant closed. After moving to Norco, California he worked for Nick's Plumbing and other various jobs. He retired in Phoenix, Arizona with his wife Judy Cardinal-Butts before her passing in 2013. Melvin spent his remaining days with his stepson Matthew Cardinal in Phoenix, Arizona.
Melvin loved the Lord Jesus Christ and told everyone he could how to know Jesus Christ as their own personal Savior.
