In Loving Memory of Mary Jane Artrup
It is with profound sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Mary Jane Artrup (43), who left us on December 15th, 2024, in Plantation, Florida. On the evening of December 15th, Mary Jane was struck by a late-night driver while walking on foot. She was rushed to Plantation General Hospital by ambulance, where she was pronounced deceased.
Mary Jane, affectionately known as MJ, was born on March 20th, 1981, in Rogers, Ohio, to Robert Artrup and Donna Trojanek. She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Artrup, and her great-grandmother, Esther Trojanek.
She leaves behind her mother Donna Kucharek, her three children Austin Artrup (28), Jasmine Brooks (26), and Caitlin Brooks (25), her sisters Noel Parks, Jessica Smith, and Shauna Sutton, and her brothers Robert (Bobby) Artrup, Kenneth Artrup, Brian Artrup, and Chad Artrup. She is also survived by her beloved grandchildren Oliver Sebastian, Ava Brooks, Ella Brooks, and Ivory Brooks.
Mary Jane was a beautiful soul, and words cannot express the depth of our sorrow at her loss. She had a smile that brightened every room she entered, and a heart full of love. She was incredibly talented artistically, passing these skills down to her children. Her love for animals, especially dogs, was unmatched. At no point in her life did she ever go without a dog by her side.
Her children will forever treasure the memories and life lessons she imparted, both the good and the challenging. Mary Jane had so much potential, so much life still left to live, and so much love to give.
Mary Jane will be deeply missed by so many. May she rest in peace and finally be free of any heartache and pain she endured and carried around throughout her lifetime.
Her children will be putting on a memorial service for her on March 22nd at 11am at the Boyne City Free Methodist Church with a small luncheon. Friends and family are welcome to join.
