Mary Elswick

Mary Eveline (Carroll/Manwaring) Elswick, 80, of Wesley Chapel, FL passed away on June 7th 2024 after facing multiple issues.

Mary was born on December 14th, 1943- in Clear Creek, West Virginia. Years later she resided in Elmira Heights, New York where she married Robert Manwaring and had 5 children. She was an amazing mother with a very big heart and beautiful soul. Her passions included family time, drinking coffee on the porch, reading, watching her favorite shows, crafting, cooking, along with her 6am phone calls with her sister Joyce.

She also attended nursing school in Dade City, Florida at PHSC when she resided to Florida.

She loved to decorate her home with items she loved such as peacocks, angels and birds.

In 1990 she moved to Wesley Chapel, Fl and married Clifton Elswick, who then passed in 1993. In 2006 she gained full guardianship of her grand daughter (Genna Manwaring) and raised her as her very own until death and she is now the age 18.

She is preceeded in death by her son Jeffery, Beulah Carroll McClure (mother), Stanley Carroll (father), Lola Scarbro (Grandma), Emmit Scarbro (Grandpa), Clifton Elswick (Husband), Donald Carroll (brother), Don Scarborough (uncle), Buster Scarbro (uncle), Teressa (neice), Rayburn Williams (brother in-law), Patrica Elswick (sister/close friend), Michael Williams (nephew), Robert Manwaring (ex husband/friend), Ruth and Roy Kincaid, Vena Trifoso (Special family) Plus many more.

She is survived in death by 5 children. Melissa Thompsen (Eric), Christy Manwaring , Tamatha Northrop (Thomas), Chad Manwaring, Genna Manwaring (Trevan Watts).
Grandchildren - Anthony Northrop (Alana), Tyler Northrop (Melissa Thomas).
Great grandchildren Jamie-Lynn, Taylor, Rhylee, November and Dakota.

She was the oldest of 10 siblings. Verla Williams (Manuel)-children Amy (Mike), Laura (Tommy), Lisa (Bubby),Manuel Jr., Nancy Long (Leo)- children Nancy Lee and Annette,) Joyce Williams (Rayburn) - children Terri-(John), Margaret (Greg), Robin (Rodney), Donna (Bubba), Faye Williams ( Gary Webb/ Barry Williams)- children Seneca (Lisa), Gary (Jeannie) Dixie, Bobbie-Sue, Jane (Scott), Lena Williams (Harold) - children Carla (Brad), Jennifer, and Michael, Sandra Williams - children Sherry (Charlie), Jr(step son), and Ross Jr., Jerry Carroll - children Jada and Jerry Jr, Ronald Carroll - children Brittany (Daniel)& Daniel.

She was also survived in death by several great nieces and nephews and cousins! Nicholas High (Christina), Justin Bias, Tristan Purser, Dalton Purser, Taylor Purser, Brianna Williams, Joshua Broderick, Dylan Mason, Jenna and Jill Webb, Chase Webb, Ava Webb, Dixie Webb, Emily Davis, Makayla Peters (Austin). (Raelynn & Dakota), Christian Williams, Brayden Davis, Rebecca McKinney (Gary), Gunner Williams, Avery McKinney, Katie(Joycelyn), Ronald Lee, Hunter. Plus many more!

She also had some close friends and family who she was survived by, Drema Dunbar (aunt), Darlene Brown, Sharon Markusz, Lilly McLeod, The Everett’s, Kristin Painter, Amy Moseley (Painter) Thomas Painter, Janie Kincaid (Amy), Vicky Paggio (Tom), Rick Kincaid (Debbie).

She has had several beloved pets throughout her lifetime. She is survived by Teddy.

There will be a celebration of life held in Beckley, West Virginia sometime in July.

There will also be a family graveside service in Elmira, New York to be determined at a later date.
