Celebrating the Life of
Marc Yamasaki, beloved by so many family members and friends, left this world far too soon at the age of 49. His passing on June 16, 2024, leaves a profound void in the lives of those who were fortunate enough to benefit from his resilient strength, unwavering willingness to help others, and most of all, his passion for bringing people together over ‘ono kine grindz.’
Born in 1975 to Karen and Calvin, Marc grew up with a deep appreciation for the simple yet profound joys of life. Even amid personal adversity, his focus on supporting others and making them happy was a testament to his remarkable character. Some were unaware of the multiple health challenges he faced for many years. He suffered from diabetes and heart disease at an early age. For the last 13 years, Marc also had to cope with the difficulties of kidney disease. Despite enduring significant health struggles, he never allowed them to overshadow his dedication to others and his zest for life.
Marc had an innate ability to relate with people from all walks of life, always offering a listening ear and a helping hand. Whether it was through his work, traveling for Comic-Kon and Yoli events, voluntary efforts, or everyday interactions like watching movies and playing video games with family and friends, Marc dedicated his life to fostering connections and uplifting those around him.
One of Marc’s greatest pleasures was uniting people through sharing delicious meals. His love for trying new restaurants, savoring flavors, and introducing others to hidden gems and his favorite eateries was more than just a hobby… it was a way to forge lasting bonds, create unforgettable memories, and spread comfort and delight.
Marc is survived by his mother, Karen; sister, Shawn; brother-in-law, Gaven; niece, Luxe; four-legged niece, Galuxey; and his aunties, uncles and cousins.

We find comfort in knowing that he is now at peace, free from the struggles he so bravely endured. Marc will be deeply missed but his remembrance continues on through the countless lives he touched and the indelible mark he left on so many hearts.
Rest in peace and love, Marc. Your legacy, #MYaloha, will continue to inspire us all.

Truly, words cannot express the deep sorrow that is felt by the Nakamura clan in losing our Marc on this earth. But it's comforting to know that his soul is at peace on the other side with Aunty and Uncle welcoming their beloved grandson to paradise. Also, all of us that graduated from St. Louis have a special bond being part of the Crusader Brotherhood. So, we all share in your loss. Thank you for not only being my cousin but especially my friend. Say hi to Uncle, Aunty, Jichan and Bachan for me. See you on the other side one of these days. Aloha Marc!
