Mahmoud 'Mike' Shafii died peacefully on September 8, 2020 in Mission Viejo, California at the age of 80 with his family by his bedside. Mahmoud is survived by his beautiful and loving wife Mimi, devoted daughter Negeen ‘Nonny’ Shafii-Breiter, son-in-law Brian Breiter, and grandchildren Noah (16), and Nika (15). Mahmoud was born in Sari, Iran. He is the fourth of eight children born to Abbas and Zakiye. At the age of 19 he moved to the United States to pursue his education. He graduated from California State Polytechnic with a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering. He married his high school sweetheart, Mimi and moved back to Iran with their infant daughter. He worked for Sherkat Naft, the National Iranian oil company until 1978, during the revolution they returned to the United States where they built a life in Mission Viejo, California. Married for 52 years, they shared a lifetime of precious memories. Mahmoud was an avid tennis player, and enjoyed spending time with his friends. In his later years he loved spoiling his grandchildren. He will be missed and Mahmoud would want you all to celebrate his memory. A funeral is scheduled for Tuesday, September 15, 2020 at 2:00 pm at Woodlawn Cemetery In Santa Monica, California.
