Celebrating the Life of
August 29, 1940 — June 7, 2024
Lynda Williams Crane, our beloved “Nonna” died peacefully in her sleep next to her husband, Sam LaCroix Crane, on June 7, 2024. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Lynda was born on August 29, 1940 in La Fourche Parish, Louisiana to parents John and Mary Bell Williams. She grew up in New Era, Louisiana with her parents and brothers, Larry Bell and Dickie Williams. She graduated Monterey High School in 1958 as co-valedictorian with her future husband, Sam Crane. They were high school sweethearts and would have been married for 63 years on June 22, 2024. She graduated college at Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, Louisiana with a BA in Business Administration.
She lived in Helotes, TX (near San Antonio) for the last 22 years to be near her children and grandchildren and attended Oak Hills Church. Prior, she lived in Garland, TX for 40 years attending Saturn Rd. Church of Christ.
She fought cancer like a warrior. She was first diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 46 (1986) and lived until the age of 83. She was known for her servant heart and always helping others. Per her wishes, there will not be a memorial service. We will continue to honor her life. We have no doubts that she is sitting with Jesus right now.
Lynda was a loyal servant to God, first and foremost, and spent her life serving others and sharing the love of Jesus. To family, friends, and strangers, she was known as fulfiller of needs. Countless stories can be told of this included lending her car, furnishing homes, and spending hours purchasing items for those in need. Her generosity truly knew no bounds.
She is survived by her husband, Sam LaCroix Crane. Her children and spouses Lynn and Lorna Crane and Dr. Eliot and Julie Young. Her grandchildren Andrew Crane, Garrett Crane, Conner and Courtney Young, Macy and Sam Manselle, and Spencer Young.
While this is the end of Lynda’s physical life on Earth, it is the beginning of her eternal journey with Jesus. Her legacy and love will always be a part of us.
Her favorite bible verse: Isaiah 40:31 “but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.”
Please share a photo or video, or post a heartfelt condolence to the family.

Loved this second mom of mine dearly! So many memories over the years with this family. I will miss Lynda’s beautiful smile and only the laugh she had! I know she’s sharing it now in heaven! Love to The Cranes & The Youngs. 💜

We didn’t have the privilege of knowing Lynda long, but what a beautiful person she was inside & out!! You made the world a better place , and until we meet again - rest easy good & faithful servant! We will miss you dearly. Love & prayers to Sam and the family at this tender time. The Woodlees
Lynda: That name only brings smiles and deep, heart felt love. She was one of God's special treasures to all who knew and loved her. She was a faithful prayer warrior for our family. And she never forgot to ask "how are they doing?" She and Sam together have been such Godly examples to all of us, as well as Kingdom Workers every day of their lives. We miss Lynda already, and imagine her family is coping simply because of her impact on their lives and how she would desire they respond. Love to all!

A special lunch at Sam and Lynda’s.

Flower Girl looking beautiful!

She fought hard to be at my wedding! Forever grateful for this flower girl of mine.

My favorite girl!

Will forever miss this smile & her laugh

Lynda was truly a “needs filler!” We love her for all the reasons stated as she has helped so many in need. However, my sweetest memories are how she loved my mother who lived with us. Mother’s hands were gnarled and misshapen from tophi caused by arthritis. She required bibs and special utensils when eating. Lynda knew we were making bibs out of hand towels for Mom. One day she showed up at our door with a silver sparkly bib for Mother! Mom loved it and this became her “Sunday eating out” bib! This is just a small example of how our sweet Lynda ALWAYS thought about others!!! She set a beautiful example of loving others as Jesus loves us—unconditionally and selflessly. The day she asked me to take over her 16-year job as our Abiding For Life Sunday school class secretary was such a sweet moment. She hated asking ( but was not up to it any longer) but I happily said “yes!” because you could never say “no” to any good thing Lynda asked you to do! When faced with cancer for the third time, and not knowing the outcome, she would always say, “Either way, I’m a winner!” Oh, how I will miss kissing those sweet soft cheeks and seeing her beautiful smile!!! I will miss her so!!
I am so sorry for your loss of precious Lynda. I know I will miss her sweet smile and positive and loving attitude. She was always serving her brothers and sisters in Christ. One day when I was at a garage sale, she pulled up and I said “hi—what are you doing here?” She said she was driving around looking for picture frames for a dear friend. I thought at that time how thoughtful and sweet she was! Always thinking of others. I know I will miss her always asking how I was doing, etc. But we will all be together in the day of our Lord and we will praise him all reunited and full of happiness and love❤️
