Celebrating the Life of
September 28, 1929 — April 30, 2026
Lydia Mary Trecroce entered into the presence of the Lord on April 30th, 2026 at the age of 96. She died in her home in Phoenixville, Pa. surrounded by her children.
Cherished by all who knew her, Lydia, a shining example of Christ’s love, was everybody’s “Nonna”. Born at home in Philadelphia on September 28 1929, Lydia was the youngest of five children born to Italian immigrants Armando and Lidia LaGamba.
One day while serving at a Veteran’s event, Lydia caught the eye of a handsome but shy bass player, who performed in the band. The rest became history. Lydia and Fiore married on April 15, 1951 and raised five children.
Lydia held various positions of employment, mostly secretarial, during her early career, but her most notable work was that of lunchlady for the Norristown Area School district. In this role, Lydia’s gifts of friendliness, generosity and compassion endeared her to students and teachers alike.
Lydia was preceded in death by her husband Fiore and her son Fiore Jr. She is survived by her other children: Lydia (Peter), Dorothea (James), Armand (Roxanne) and Olivia; her grandchildren: Allison, Fiore III, Alex, Troy, Brianna, Melanie, Dorian, Robin, Zoe, Shane, Robert and Danni. She was blessed with five great grandchildren and a great, great grandson.
Lydia was a woman of unwavering faith whose love for God and others shone through every aspect of her life. She found strength in prayer, wisdom in the scriptures, and peace through God’s promise of eternal life. The legacy of love Lydia left behind is exceeded only by the love of Christ –good news she freely shared with others.
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” –John 3:16.
Per Lydia’s request, a memorial service will be held at her church: Pawling Chapel, 400 Pawlings Rd, Phoenixville, Pa. (Date and time to be announced)
In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to Lydia’s church.
