Celebrating the Life of
July 16, 1954 — July 21, 2023
It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Dr. Luis M. Dominguez on July 21, 2023, at the age of 69.
Luis was born in Aldama, Mexico to Eleuterio and Maria Dominguez. He moved with his family to Animas Valley at a young age and committed himself to the pursuit of knowledge and medicine. He studied biology and chemistry at New Mexico State University, graduated with honors from Stanford University School of Medicine, and continued on with his anesthesia residency at University of Arizona where he was also a clinical assistant professor. Luis practiced anesthesiology for just over 30 years between New Mexico and Arizona, having a positive impact on many lives. His unwavering dedication to his profession and his incredible work ethic was widely recognized by his peers and loved ones.
Passionate about technology, Luis was always eager to learn about the latest innovations and incorporate them into his life. He also enjoyed learning new hobbies, such as flying, photography, woodworking, playing the guitar, fly-fishing, and often listened to music to find peace. Many of those who knew Luis, would describe him as an incredibly generous man – always trying to find an opportunity to help those around him.
Luis was preceded in death by his mother and father. He is survived by his siblings, Lourdes Campos, Irma Dominguez and Eloy Dominguez as well as his children, Lisa Murphy, Michael Dominguez, Matthew Dominguez, Michelle Munro and Bryan Dominguez. He was also a proud grandfather of fourteen grandchildren. His influence on their lives will not be forgotten and his legacy of hard work and generosity will continue through each of them.
In this time of loss, we honor Luis's memory and devote ourselves to carrying forward the lessons he has left us. Private services will be held for immediate family in Lordsburg, NM where he will be laid to rest alongside his parents.
