Celebrating the Life of
August 1, 1950 — February 29, 2024
Leonard “Tommy” Frost, 73, of Huntsville, MO, passed away on Thursday, February 29, 2024, at his home. He was born August 1, 1950, in Moberly, MO to Leonard and Retha (Hill) Frost. He attended Westran High School where he met his future wife, Cheryl Riffel and took her to the February 12th Valentine’s Dance for their first date. They married on February 3, 1968. Tom had a long career as a pressman for St. Louis Litho while raising his two daughters and a son with Cheryl. He enjoyed coaching baseball and sharing his hobbies of hunting, fishing, playing cards, and shooting pool with family and friends of all ages. He was a prankster and loved to laugh.
He and Cheryl retired to his family’s Huntsville farm in the house that he helped his father build on the land where he spent a lifetime farming, gardening, and hunting. He was very active at St. Pius X Catholic Parish where they helped start the community soup kitchen and he welcomed many new members into the catholic faith as a proud godfather to five godchildren and sponsor to those initiated through the RCIA program. He was also a Fourth Degree Sir Knight of the Knights of Columbus.
Tom was an avid hunter and fisherman. His outdoor adventures included many successful deer and turkey hunts on the farm, pheasant hunts in Iowa, and a successful elk hunt in Colorado. Whether fishing for big catfish on the Missouri River or small crappie at Sugar Creek, Tom loved it all. His travels brought him deep sea fishing in the Pacific & Atlantic Oceans; salmon and halibut fishing in Alaska; walleye fishing in Canada; many camping and trout fishing trips with friends; and the blessing of a final Florida fishing trip in the Gulf with family just weeks before joining his Father in Heaven.
He is survived by his wife, Cheryl, and his sister Shirly (Joe); children: Kimberley Frost, Robert (Barbara) Frost, Rachelle (Mitch) Prater, and bonus daughter Melanie Foster; grandchildren: Cody (Lora) and Austin (Olivia) Wagner; Grace, Aaron, and Stella Frost; Richard (Taylor) and Jori (Andrew Wallace) Prater; great grandchildren: Melody, Cam, and Lilyann; bonus grandchildren: Nick (Jill) and Reagan; Michael, Aiden, and Jace; Tiffanie (Josh), Chloe, Chelsy, Cadynce, Olivia, Sophia, and Lincoln; and Brett; nieces and nephews: Frank (Jeannie), JoAnn (Ernie), and Janive (Greg); John, Mike (Becky), and Tim; Vickie (Keith) and Jon (Barb); and a large, loving family of great nieces and nephews, cousins, as well as his family of friends that all miss him dearly.
Those preceding him in death include his parents: Leonard and Retha; siblings: Dallas, Lena, and Sallie (Bobby); nephew: Mark; his mother- and father-in-law: Ed and Lil; and two brothers-in-law: Bob and Smitty.
