Celebrating the Life of
May 8, 1962 — July 3, 2025
Leonard “Lennie” Keith Rivers, born on May 8, 1962, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, passed away on July 3, 2025, in Deltona, Florida. He was 63 years old.
Lennie’s life was marked by a deep love for his family, a passion for the outdoors, and a steadfast faith. He is lovingly remembered by his children: daughter Skye Rivers (son in law Jason Bruce), sons Lee Rivers and Jacob Rivers. He also leaves behind his sisters Amy Rivers Wilks (John), April Rivers Edwards (Steve), Missy Hahn and his brother Van Hahn; and many nieces and nephews who will cherish his memory.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Nancy Rivers; his sister Lynn Ann Rivers Anderson; and his brother-in-law Jim Anderson.
Lennie grew up in Sanford, Florida, where he made lifelong friends and spent his childhood playing baseball and dreaming of fast cars. Later in life, he carried that love for speed to the racetrack, taking his children to watch NASCAR and always enjoying the thrill of going fast.
A hardworking man, he spent many years as an over-the-road truck driver, providing for his family with dedication and quiet strength. He loved traveling the country and sharing the beautiful sites with his family. He took his children with him as much as possible and enjoyed stopping to explore new places along the way. He took great pride in his career and in his Peterbilt trucks.
Lennie was known for his willingness to offer a helping hand. He would stop to help a stranger on the side of the road, give someone his last dollar or support a friend in need. He never hesitated to help someone. This is a lasting lesson he taught his children.
Outside of work, he found peace and happiness in the outdoors. He loved fishing and hunting and was happiest when he could share those moments with others. He never hesitated to take anyone fishing, teaching them the patience of waiting for a bite and the joy of reeling in a catch. His love for nature was a gift he shared with family and friends, creating memories on the water and in the woods that will be cherished forever.
His faith was a guiding force in his life. Lennie loved God and Jesus deeply and found comfort in reading the Bible. His spiritual devotion shaped his outlook and offered him strength through life’s challenges.
More than anything, he loved his family deeply. He was a proud father to his three children and he found great joy in spending time with them.
He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
May Leonard “Lennie” Keith Rivers’ memory bring comfort to those who knew him and continue to inspire love, faith, and perseverance in their lives.
A private celebration of life will be held in his honor at a later date.
