I am glad to get a chance to thank Coach Schmidt on the positive influence he has had on my life. He was a straight shooter, when he told you something good or bad, you always knew he was being honest with you. I might have seen him gently drop his clipboard a time or two. I remember when I was a sophomore, and someone told me Coach Schmidt could never win a state championship. It just so happens we won the championship the next 2 years in a row. That put that crap to bed in a hurry. I have the fondest memories of my football playing days, and Coach Schmidt was a big reason for that. My prayers are with you.
