Kathy Lorraine Berenato passed away peacefully in her sleep at her home in Biloxi, Mississippi on September 1, 2025 at the age of 60. Kathy received a terminal cancer diagnosis and chose to receive hospice care surrounded by her loved ones in the comfort of her home.
Kathy was born on January 17, 1965 in Charlotte, North Carolina to Nancy and Lynwood Lee. She graduated from Campbell High School as a part of the class of 1983.
Kathy had a heart of service and found great joy in her hospitality career, making friends and impacting lives wherever she went. She worked tirelessly, cherished her family and friends deeply, and always offered a helping hand, even during her own difficult times. As a devoted animal lover, Kathy was renowned for rescuing and providing loving care to numerous cats and dogs throughout her life. She had a passion for music, frequently attending concerts, loved preparing delicious meals for her family, and collected an array of cherished items, including Disney memorabilia, teddy bears, and rubber ducks. Kathy was also known for her signature, impeccably maintained feathered hairstyle. Her kindness, warmth, humor, and unique personality will be dearly missed.
Kathy is preceded in death by her father, Lynwood Lee. She is survived by her devoted husband of 24 years, Domenic Berenato; her beloved daughters, Anna Johnson and Dorothy Cornell; her mother, Nancy Lee; and her brothers, Scott and Kevin Lee. She leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories.
