Celebrating the Life of
April 9, 1962 — June 27, 2024
Kathryn (Kathy) Cihon has passed peacefully at home, surrounded by her family.
In her younger years, she could be found among many friends at the bar or on the back of a Harley. She lived life to the limit and truly lived up to the name "Kat", as she had 9 lives.
She also loved sea shell hunting in the Outer Banks, cooking new recipes she would find online, visiting casinos to play slot machines, and being a 'Mimi' to her grandkids.
She is preceded in death by her mother and father, Nellie and Thomas Cihon, and her grandson, Tristan Shai Mitchell, as well as many uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends that have gone before her.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Danielle and Torean and grandchildren, Nelleia, Thoren, Chloe, and McKenzie, her non-biological "children" that she loved as her own, such as Tiffany, Bailey, and many others, as well as brothers and sisters, nieces and nephews, and beloved friends.
As per Kathy's request, no services will be held. Cremation is being performed by Vrabel Funeral Home.
Please share a photo or video, or post a heartfelt condolence to the family.
So many family reunion memories from back in the day. Our condolences to all her family, including siblings, Gene & Tommy Cihon & Sue Knickerbockers, who weren't mentioned in the obit.
I will miss you forever. We had so much fun together going to the casino also back in the day taking our kids to universal studios.
I was lucky enough to have basically moved in with Kathy-by way of Dani from middle school through high school. She was my second mother, the one who taught me all the funny curse words, always called us out on our shenanigans, the one who kept my secret and didn’t tell my parents when the cops came and called us sailors. I will miss her feisty comments and absolutely gravitating personality.
She was a good lady remember the days at our family reunion at clays park rip Kathy you will be miss fly high
I will always remember Kathy yelling at us all during a sleepover for being too loud. She wanted to be so mad but you could see how happy she was. I wish I had pictures to share but just know she lives in everyone’s mind perfectly❤️

I will never not miss you. I will never forget you. I couldn't in a million years. You birthed me, you were there my entire life. We had our ups and downs. But you were my mommy. Until we meet again, I love you so much.

Rest in peace my friend.... I hold many memories of you in my heart.. You will never be forgotten...
