Celebrating the Life of
July 6, 1944 — October 26, 2024
Karen Lee Turner (Kessler), age 80, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 26, at 7:44 pm, surrounded by her loving family, including her four children, Gary Turner, Bobby Turner, Carrie Turner, and Jenny Esser, along with many of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, in La Grange, KY.
Born on July 6, 1944, in Chicago, IL, to William and Olive Kessler, Karen carried her deep compassion and dedication throughout her life. She was the beloved wife of the late James Turner, who passed away on October 30, 2016. Karen retired after many dedicated years working in the Meat Department at Kroger. Beyond her career, she was deeply committed to helping at the local humane society, ensuring every animal was fed, walked, and well-prepared for a new loving home.
Karen is survived by her children, Gary, Bobby, Carrie, and Jenny; her six grandchildren, Justin Turner, Chelsey Turner, Amber Piper, Troy Piper, Reagan Piper, and Kaydence Esser; and seven great-grandchildren, Brylee, Ava, Paisley, Nora, Kennedy, James, and Rory. Karen cherished her family and especially delighted in spoiling her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Her legacy of kindness, strength, and compassion will be remembered and celebrated by all who knew and loved her.
"Karen's wishes were not to send any flowers or food; instead, she would like donations to be given to the Humane Society of Oldham County Spay & Neuter Program in memory of Karen Turner."
Please share a photo or video, or post a heartfelt condolence to the family.

Mis Karen you're such an amazing person along with your daughters Carrie and Jenny Just a few days ago we shared a story with your daughter Jenny about going to the special Olympics regions or even States and how everyone at the motels or even the games would think that you were my boys' grandmother and I was Carrie's sister I will always cherish my memories of you I Love My Dear Friend

We got our children together often for social skills. Special Olympics brought us together yet it was your sincere friendship that carried over into our lives. So many lunches and outings getting to know each other and our families. You were always so serving of others and I have fond memories of our time as friends here on earth. May you rest in peace, my friend.

Today, I celebrate the life of my mom, a beautiful soul who found joy in the simple things—family games, sweet treats, and caring for every animal that crossed her path. She filled our lives with love and kindness, and though I’ll miss her every day, I know she’s watching over us with that same warmth, waiting until the next time we share a Bud Light together.
