Karem J. Shabrack passed away on Friday, March 8, 2024. He was suffering from a long illness of
heart failure. He was born and raised in Haledon, New Jersey.
Karem was borned to John and Vera Shabrack (both are deceased) in 1947. Karem went to
Wayne Hills High School, where he received his diploma. After high school, he married Mary Ann
DeRuiter (Gacek, later on) in 1971. She is deceased as of 2023. They had a child named Nicholas
Shabrack. They were married for almost ten years. Karem was a CNC Operator for Curtiss Wrights for
many years. He also worked for other machine shops such a Versa for New Jersey. In 1991, he married
a woman named Delores. They were together for twenty-seven years.
Later, he moved to North Carolina to be closer to his son and grandchildren. He lived in Angier,
North Carolina, the last five years of his life. He was a part of the Angier Methodist Church, where he
had many friends and was loved by his community.
He is survived by his son, Nicholas. He is also survived by his 4 brothers and 2 sisters: John,
George, Mark, Bob, Barabara and Jenny. He also survived by three grandchildren: Mason, Sebastian and
Jordan. He is also survived by three sisters-in-law and two brothers-in-law. He has many nieces and
nephews. All will always remember their brother, uncle, father and grandfather, Karem, as a man of
kindness and generosity, that will always be a treasure.
There will a service in July, at the Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, in Totowa NJ, where he will be
buried with his parents, John and Vera.

We are so very sorry to hear that Karem has passed. Our condolences and love are being sent to his entire family. Karem was a good man and a hard worker. He had a great sense of humor and made all of laugh. He will be missed by our family. May he rest in peace.
Omg I am so sorry for ur loss Even though Ky and I didn't see eye to eye he was like a father to me and I am really heart broken by this news I had just read may he RIP HE WILL BE MISSED
