I had the privilege to work alongside Juli from 1996-2000 @ Souplantation where I was primarily a “ greeter” while Juli worked the register. I first met Juli a month or 2 in & was immediately struck with how warm & friendly she was. We were part of the regular lunch crew so much so that we were on a 1st name basis with many of them! To this day I can still hear Juli call me or another good friend Ozzie up to assist some guests with their trays “ Gregg front please!” I also got into hot water one time while trying to save Juli a table for her break which would have been fine except we were experiencing a fairly busy lunch crowd! Put a “ reserved” sign on the table right in front of a guest who was about to use & if that wasn’t bad enough one of the managers happened to walk right by as well. U can imagine how well that went over oops! Even though I was dealing with a few things in those days my time @ the Soup brought me many meaningful friendships and smiles & Juli was @ the top of the list. I consider myself a better person for having known her & wish I could have conveyed that to her more often. Tamra, Trent & Marc I know I don’t have to tell u how special Juli was & could no way relate to the pain of losing her as a mom & wife but I will forever cherish the memories I have of her as well as being able to call her a friend! Rest peacefully Juli until we meet again..

Cristina (Daughter-In-Law) and Momma Juli.

There are so many memories I have of my mom. We always cracked up together, we just understood each other. But aside from our general good times we would have, she would always try to make each encounter special. From tailoring anything she made so I could eat my childhood favorites when I was vegan, to sending me random cards in the mail just to tell me she loved me. When I was growing up, we would pull out our sofa bed, get take-out and watch Blockbuster movies. Taking it that extra thoughtful step made the simple things feel exciting and elegant even when we didn’t have much. She really knew how to make me and everyone she cared about feel special.
