Celebrating the Life of
November 28, 1942 — August 15, 2024
It is with great sadness we announce the passing Joyce Self on Thursday, August 15, 2024 at the age of 81 surrounded by her family and loved ones. Joyce was predeceased by her parents Cornelius Farmer and Virginia Pickard.
Joyce loved spending time with her family, visiting the beach, reading and watching TV, especially Christmas movies. Joyce loved her husband, her sons and especially her granddaughter Alexis who was the apple of her eye.
Joyce loved Christmas, it was her favorite holiday. She collected hundred of ornaments and enjoyed decorating the tree every year with her family. Her favorite color was red. She loved red roses, red L'Oréal lipstick, and any blouse, sweater or shirt in any shade of red. She had a voracious sweet tooth and loved to indulge in a box of Whitman's chocolates but above all she loved Diet Coke.
Joyce spent most of her life growing up in Kentucky and southern Indiana. She had a successful career at the Census Bureau in Jeffersonville, Indiana. In her later years she and her husband Bruce moved to Colorado where Bruce currently lives.
Joyce is survived by her devoted husband Bruce Self, Sons: Bruce M. Self, Christopher Self and Philip Self. Grandchildren: Alexis (Self) Cabrera (27) and Conner Self (18). Great Grandchild: Emmanuel Cabrera (3).
