Johnnie (Papa John) Lloyd Neal

Johnnie (John) Lloyd Neal passed away on Wednesday, May 22, 2024, in Reston,
VA, at the age of eighty-one. He was born on Wednesday, November 4, 1942, in
Nicholson, MS. John lived and worked in many places over the course of his life,
proudly serving in the United States Navy, and later devoting decades of his life in the service of God as a Pastor in Louisiana and Texas and as a Missionary to
Germany, Belgium and South Africa, where he spread the Gospel and planted
churches.

He worked for Texas Electric Equipment Co. in Laporte, TX, helping to build a
successful company for 36 years. He served as General Manager for many years, until recently retiring to continue as a sales consultant, due to his vast experience and industry contacts.
John’s love of the Lord was visibly seen in the years spent sharing the Gospel of
Christ to anyone who would listen. One of his favorite things was to be in an
elevator with a “captive audience.” He cherished his family more than anything
else, finding his greatest joy in providing for his family, even if he himself went
without.
John loved encouraging his children and grandchildren to succeed, riding
motorcycles as a young man, and watching old Western movies and TV shows. He delighted in the simple pleasures of coffee with chicory and time spent with loved ones, telling the best Dad jokes, and regaling everyone with his stories. And most of all, he found the greatest joy in spending time with his wife, Terri, the love of his life with whom he spent sixty loving years of marriage, and their family.
He continued to work as a consultant up until a couple of weeks before his death.
He was always willing to help anyone expecting nothing in return. He had a
genuine smile that made everyone around him feel his presence. John will be
forever loved and cherished in the hearts of all those who were fortunate to know him.
John is survived by his beloved wife, Theressa (Terri) Neal; children, Shannon
(Neal) Pankow, Shawna (Neal) Martin, and Michael (Neal) Miller; grandchildren:
Deanna (Katie) Martinez, Josiah Pankow, Seth Pankow, Morgan Miller, Melanie
Miller, and Nicholas Smith.

Preceded in death by, his parents, Austin Lloyd Neal, and Katie Kathleen Miller;
and siblings: Linda Faye Neal Miller, and Jimmy Neal; and grandson: Joshua Smith.
