Celebrating the Life of
June 9, 1971 — September 3, 2025
Joel Aputi Oliver of Lakeside, Texas, passed away at his home on Wednesday, September 03, 2025, at the age of 54. He was born on June 9, 1971, in Cavite, Philippines, and had lived in the Fort Worth area since the age of six months.
After graduating from Castleberry High School in 1989, Joel moved to Austin, Texas, where he met and married his beautiful wife of 31 years, Janay. She returned with Joel to the Fort Worth area in 2003 to raise their family. He was devoted to his wife and children, who were his greatest pride and joy.
Joel is survived by his wife, Janay, and four exceptional children, Autumn Rose, Savannah Mai, Justice Wyatt, and Tucker Eli; his mother, Milagros; siblings, Theresa, JD, Joseph, and Elizabeth; 23 nieces and nephews; aunts, uncles, and cousins, all who hold him dearly in their hearts.
Joel will be remembered as a true family man and friend for life, and someone who always showed up. Everyone knew he could be counted on for advice, support, or encouragement. He was always willing to lend a hand or take care of what needed fixing. He loved football and Sci-Fi, and was an avid collector of all things, with a special fondness for toys and records. He had an incredible sense of humor and will be remembered as a true Trekkie.
Although Joel’s physical presence may no longer grace our lives, his spirit will continue to inspire and uplift us. May his memory be a blessing, and may we carry forth his legacy of love and compassion in all that we do. “Live Long and Prosper”

A glitch in the matrix

"JD had this commissioned but they didn’t deliver on time . Still an amazing tribute!"

Joel as they say is like my brother from another mother. I met Joe in 2006 while working for another company in Fort Worth . It came as a surprise when this tall , big white guy approached me and said he is half Filipino. Immediately there was that common bond despite the seemingly difference in looks . I felt in Joel the kindness and dedication of a father, a manager and a co worker. When I passed my master electrician license and opened my electrical company , Joel never hesitated to refer me to the companies he worked for.. He helped me grow my company and I also helped him with the needs of the company he worked for by providing quality service , getting a green tag and inspection one time. Joel and I became really close that I was even telling him to quit his job and. come partner with me in the business . I am still in shock knowing that my buddy has left us . His jolly and kind demeanor is what I will keep in my heart.

“Yard Bird, it’s what’s for dinner”

We meet Joel at a toy show and became instant friend. He was one of those guy's, that felt you knew for a long time. We joked a lot at the toy shows, made time go by fast. We always called Joel for advice on toys. We WILL TRUELY MISS HIM. Our Deepest Condolences
