Celebrating the Life of
June 24, 1941 — February 28, 2024
Jimmy L Martin, beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away on February 28, 2024, at the age of 82. He was born on June 24, 1941, in Parkersburg, W, and most recently resided in Panama City Beach, FL.
Jimmy had a zest for life and cherished spending time with his family, making lasting memories with the ones he loved. He had a passion for singing and was often found singing along to his favorite country music tunes. Jimmy's favorite pastimes included savoring a variety of seafood, relishing in the deer and hog his son prepared for him, and enjoying any dish that included onions.
A true family man, Jimmy loved nothing more than being surrounded by people who loved him as much as he loved them. His heart would swell with pride as he listened to his grandchildren sing songs to him.
The Great Smoky Mountains held a special place in his heart, and he found solace and joy in their majestic beauty. Westerns were his go-to TV shows, and he had a fondness for watching golf.
Jimmy proudly served in the Marine Corps and later worked on the railroad. He believed in the power of expressing love, and his favorite quote was to never leave without saying "I love you." His proudest accomplishments were becoming a grandfather and, later, a great-grandfather. He cherished the moments shared with his oldest son James and grandson Dalton, his middle son Michael and grandchildren Blake and Faith, and his youngest daughter and granddaughters Ciera and Shae.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his loving wife
Naomi in 2021. He leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories that will be carried on by his family, who will forever remember him as Papaw and Jim.
A private ceremony will be held to honor jimmy's life and his remarkable contributions to his family. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to a charity of your choice in memory of Jimmy L Martin.
Rest in peace, Jimmy. You will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
