Jennifer Kate (Doran) Alvear, 52, of Scottsdale passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 7, 2024 after a lengthy battle with breast cancer. She was surrounded by close friends and family.
Kate was born on October 28th, 1971 in Orange County, CA. She was the first of two daughters to Jack Doran and Carolin (Collins) Doran. Kate’s sister Sarah came years later and they eventually moved to Carmel, CA where they attended highschool. Kate graduated from Notre Dame High School in Salinas and went on to attend the University of Arizona where she met some life long friends. Kate got married in her early 20’s and had her first son, Jack Alvear at the age of 24 and her first daughter, Mariana, 3 years later. While raising two young children, she finished getting her degree and quickly ascended to leadership positions within the pharmaceutical industry. She was well respected for her work and became a mentor to those she worked with. Her career aspirations inspired a life-changing relocation to Philadelphia, which she quickly embraced and became a huge fan of all of their sports teams - especially the Philadelphia Eagles (Go Birds!).
In her most recent years, Kate moved back to the West Coast where she got to spend valuable time with her late mother and the rest of the Doran/Campbell family in Northern California before eventually moving to Scottsdale, AZ to live in close proximity to her son and best friend of many years, Gretchen Baumgarner. Kate is survived by her son Jack & daughter Mariana, father Jack Doran and sister Sarah Campbell. It’s been an honor and a privilege to know her and love her.
