Celebrating the Life of
June 7, 1971 — November 6, 1987
Jane “El” Hopper, a resident of Hawkins, Indiana, passed away November 6, 1987, at the age of 16. She was born Jane Ives on June 7, 1971, to Teresa “Terry” Ives and Andrew Rich in Hawkins, Indiana. Jane was a student of Hawkins High School and a bright, curious girl whose small, ordinary joys and fierce loyalty defined her.

She loved spending time with friends, making mixtapes, and finding happiness in simple comforts. From a young age, she displayed extraordinary courage and a deep devotion to the people of Hawkins; she used everything she had to protect her friends and her town, ultimately giving her life in an act of selfless bravery.
