Jamal was a dear friend of the family who knew my daughter Wendy since childhood. Because he was a young man who could converse with any age group, I called him ageless. Jamal was always there for friends and people he considered family whether it was a visit in the hospital or to help you assemble furniture. He always wanted to keep you informed on what was happening in the community. I will always miss you and remember you, gone but not forgotten. Loved you Jamal, Always
We LOVE you Jamal, you will be deeply missed. You were not only my friend but you were my older brother and my family and I send our love to your entire family. RIP ❤️ watch over us 💔
Blessings up for you my friend. We met each other I’m guessing in kindergarten/first grade at PS 106. We hit it off, had countless sleepovers and ran around for a few. Our lives took different paths but we kept in touch until we couldn’t. On the day before BUSHWICK Family Day we bumped into each other and we spoke about the love and respect that we had for each other. On that day I talked to a few of my loved ones and told them how excited I was to see you and speak to you. Never would I thought that the father would call you home so soon. Thank you and your family for loving me when I had just lost my mom and sharing your lives with me. Friend rest up, I hope that your mom and dad welcomes you at the gate. ❤️🙏🏾🕊️
My heart is so heavy right now. I talked with Jamal on the phone for hours reminiscing about our childhood, talking about family, friends, jobs, life, relationships, plants, and our pets. I would like to take this time to share something I feel should be shared because we talked about it often. Jamal really loved you in spite of how things turned out between you’ll. He always said he would have done anything for you’ll if you would’ve opened your heart to speak to him. He always told me that he loves you all. Please know that he thought about you often. You know who this is for and about. I just wanted to make sure that you knew how he really felt about how things turned out between you’ll. I am so grateful that I had the opportunity to know you and to love you. My childhood friend. It’s time to take your rest. Rest peacefully.
Condolences to the Porter family. May Jamal rest his good soul besides the Lord himself.. 🙏
