Helmut Sauter

Helmut Sauter, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 1, 2024, at the age of 86. His memory will forever reside in the hearts of his family and friends. Helmut is survived by his beloved wife, Marianne Sauter, and his daughter, Linda Sauter of Oregon. He is also lovingly remembered by his goddaughter, Diane Archer, and his stepsons, Peter and Michael Hacker. In Germany, he is survived by his brother Fritz and his wife Marianne, niece Melanie with Holger, and nephew Dominik with his family. His brother Joseph Sauter, nephew Ralf with his family, nephew Frank with his family, niece Gabriele with her family, and nephew Joseph with Tanja, as well as his nephew, Georg Frankenhauser and his family, and his niece, Ilona Roller, and her family.

Born on October 18, 1938, in Hundersingen, Germany, Helmut embarked on a new journey when he immigrated to New Jersey in 1958. With the support of his cousin Luise and her husband Simon, who played significant roles in his life, Helmut began to build a new chapter. He dedicated 41 years of his life to Gains Chemical in Wallington, New Jersey, before retiring to Sarasota, Florida, in 2000, with his wife Alice (who passed away in 2009). He married Marianne in 2015. They had many adventures together. Helmut's last visit to Germany was in 2023 to celebrate his 85th birthday.

Helmut cherished his time at the German American Club, where friendships flourished, and he found joy in gardening and spending quality moments with loved ones. He will always be remembered as a devoted father, husband, stepfather, godfather, brother, and uncle. Helmut lived his life with unwavering integrity, ensuring that all those he loved were cared for and supported. His legacy of kindness and love will continue to inspire all who knew him.
