Celebrating the Life of
March 15, 1950 — May 10, 2024
Glenn Michael Roth, known affectionately as "Mike," "Big Daddy," and "Large Father," peacefully departed from us on May 10, 2024, at his home in Arlington, Texas.
Born and raised in Lititz, Lancaster County, to Clarence Glenn Roth and Shirley Anne Foltz, Mike grew into a celebrated high school football player and wrestler, earning numerous accolades. He pursued athletics at Hofstra University before charting a new path.
Mike cultivated a long career in audio engineering and heavy rigging equipment, serving countless bands, artists, conventions, shows, and live theaters. Starting with Clair Brothers Audio, his journey included employment in the early '80s with Showco, Gemini Sound, Samuelson's Concert Productions, and Alford Media, all in the Dallas area. A long-time member of the International Association of Theatrical and Stage Employees Union Local 127 (Dallas), Mike also worked as the house sound engineer at the Majestic Theater in Dallas for several years before retiring.
Mike deeply cherished his hometown of Lititz and his many long-time friendships from both Lititz and the Dallas-Fort Worth area. He relocated from Lititz to Dallas to start a life with his long-term best girl, "Barbie." They moved to nearby Arlington in 1985. Although he claimed to be a fan of any football team in Pennsylvania, he often watched Dallas Cowboys games, humorously asserting his dislike for them. Mike was also a season-ticket holder for the Dallas Mavericks and his beloved Texas Rangers. Some of his greatest moments were spent riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle, proudly wearing his "Lone Wolf" insignia.
Mike is preceded in death by his father, Clarence Glenn Roth (1988), and his mother, Shirley Anne Becker (2020). He is survived by his wife, Barbara Joy Roth; son, Michael Branden Roth; daughter, Hanni Marielle Roth; grandson, Apollo Alexander Roth, all of Arlington, Texas; sisters, Leslie Corvelle and Sue Longenecker; and step-father, Paul Becker, all of Pennsylvania. May he now rest in comfort and peace in God's eternal embrace.

Mike was a wonderful man. His personality was always upbeat and able to make people laugh and feel good. He loved his studio and sound journey. He loved his bike and truck. His journey as a father and husband was cut short due to his health. He will be missed. Gary M.
I will always be grateful for a crash course in sound basics. I was struggling as a new elementary music teacher to master microphones and sound production. A course and training that doesn't exist....
