Obituary for Gary Winsor
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Gary Winsor, a beloved husband, father, and respected voice in broadcast journalism. Gary passed away peacefully on 3/31/2025 at the age of 67, surrounded by the love of his family.
A retired news anchor whose calm demeanor and commanding presence graced television screens for over three decades, Gary was known not only for his journalistic integrity but for the warmth and sincerity he brought to every story. Whether reporting from the field or behind the anchor desk, he became a trusted figure in households across the region, always delivering the news with clarity, compassion, and a steady voice.
Beyond his professional achievements, Gary was, above all, a devoted family man. He is survived by his loving wife, Regina, with whom he shared 28 wonderful years of marriage, and their two daughters, Courtney and Brittany, who were the pride and joy of his life. Gary cherished his role as a father, offering guidance, laughter, and unconditional love at every stage of their lives.
Those who knew Gary will remember his quick wit, his love of good conversation, his deep baritone laugh, and the kindness he extended to everyone he met. In retirement, he enjoyed quiet mornings with Regina, weekend visits with his daughters, and tending to his garden — a place he found both peace and purpose.
Gary Winsor's legacy is one of integrity, love, and a life well-lived. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, former colleagues, and the countless viewers who welcomed him into their homes over the years.
A private service will be held for close family, with a public memorial to be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Kitty Kat Haven, a cause close to Gary’s heart.
May his memory be a blessing, and may his voice echo in our hearts forever.
