Gary Cooper died unexpectedly in the family home on November 14, 2024, in Phoenix Arizona at the age of 65. is survived by his sister Tammy Douglass of Grinnell, Iowa, and Her three sons Michael Collins of Layton Utah, Andrew and Alexander Douglass of, West Des Moines, Iowa. He is preceded in death by his parents Clifford and Virginia Cooper. Gary was born on November 24, 1958. He graduated from Sunny Slope High School in 1977 went to an air conditioning school and got a degree in air conditioning.
There are no plans for a memorial at this time.
Gary was a dedicated son to his Mother, whom he cared for until her death on August 7, 2023.
The nurse at our mom's hospice told me that Gary was a very kind and lovely person.
Update: 02/13/2025: Today is a difficult day. I am organizing Mom and Gary's estate. I got a better picture and was able to add a theme.
It was a difficult relationship with Gary, but in the end, he was my brother. I wish he could have allowed me in more. Gary had a difficult life, with too many downs and not enough ups. He found it difficult to let people into his life. Being in Gary's inner circle in life, always involved dealing with two very different Gary's. One moment he could be kind and sweet then the next it was as if a light flipped on and he became a very negative and uncaring Gary. Something he knew a lot about as a child.
Rest in Peace brother, I do hope that your next time will be a lot better than this life was for you.
