Celebrating the Life of
January 8, 2005 — June 10, 2024
It is with a heavy heart that we announce that Garret Higgins, 18, of Coldwater Michigan went home to be with the lord on Monday June 10th, 2024.
Garret will forever be remembered as an extraordinary young man whose light shone brightly in the hearts of all who knew him. Friends say he is leaving behind a legacy of love, courage, and compassion.
Born to Pete and Tonya Higgins on January 8th 2006, Garret was a beloved son, brother, and friend. His journey through life was marked by resilience and kindness, traits he inherited from his late father, Pete, and his brother, Julius, who preceded him in death.
Garret's love knew no bounds, and his greatest joy was found in the company of his family. He was a devoted son to his mother, Tonya, whose unwavering support and unconditional love sustained him through life's trials. In addition to his mother Garret is survived by two younger siblings, Ryan and Isabella, who thought the world of their older brother and will miss him dearly.
Garret's impact extended far beyond his family circle. He was a friend to all, known for his infectious laughter, his compassionate heart, and his willingness to lend a helping hand. Whether on the soccer field, in the classroom, or within his community, Garret's presence radiated warmth and positivity, leaving an indelible mark on those fortunate enough to cross his path.
Though Garret's time on this earth was tragically brief, his legacy will endure for generations to come. Let us take comfort in the memories we shared, the lessons he taught us, and the love he so generously bestowed upon us.
A memorial service in honor of Garret's life will be held on Friday, June 14th at Carrington Chapel, at 11:00 AM, with visiting hours starting at 9:00. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Suicide Prevention Association.
