Last night, at 6:45pm, my uncle had passed away. He was the city chickasha rodeo legend. He was interviewed by a local radio host a couple of years ago. He rode saddlebronc for 24 years. His name was Frank Lee Cox. He passed away at the age of 71. For those that met him, he would go out of his way to help those less fortunate. For me, he was what was keeping me motivated in life. I remember all the good things that he had done. His passion was working at the Alex landfill. He has numerous family members that are scattered throughout the US. His brother (my father) John Cox always went to rodeos together. A great rodeo icon. He, along with other rodeo pioneers paved a way to what we have now. That also includes bull riders and so forth. They; along with their older generation.....to include Lane Frost....sat the standard for what it takes to compete in this high adrenalin sport. Yes it is dangerous but these pioneers did it. With a combined of 50 years, with me paying my respects to these legends, my uncle will always be there within the others. COWBOY UP.
