Celebrating the Life of
November 28, 1990 — November 11, 2025
In Loving Memory of Essam Ahmed Ismail 11/28/1990 – 11/11/2025
It is with deep love and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Essam Ismail, age 34, who left this world far too soon on November 11, 2025.
Essam had the biggest heart — kind, generous, and full of empathy. He had a way of making people feel like they mattered, no matter who they were or what they were going through. He loved people deeply and was loved just as deeply in return.
A proud father, son, brother, and friend. Essam cherished his family above all else. He found happiness in every shared meal, every story told, and every moment together. Family was his foundation, his safe haven, and his greatest source of pride.
Essam’s journey through life was marked by courage, strength, and resilience. He overcame life challenges with strength, honesty, and determination; ultimately finding recovery and using his experience to inspire and encourage others. His story was one of hope and redemption - proof that grace, healing, and love can prevail even in life’s hardest battles.
He is survived by his loving family, his father, Ahmed Ismail (Ghada Hafez); mother, Roushelle “Shelly” Longest; sisters, Aleya, Saha, Mona, Maya, and Kristin; brothers, Amir (Jessica), Mohammed, Marwan, Malek; as well as Erica and David Grimsley.
He was the proud father of Essam Jr. and Ean; a loving uncle to his nephews, Tommy, David, Kaleb, and Landyn; nieces, Peyton, Macie, Layla, MaryLynn, and Phoenix; as well as countless friends who will forever hold his memory close to their hearts.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Though his time with us was short, the impact of Essam’s life and love will be everlasting. His kindness will live on through the people he loved. His memory will forever remind us of the power of compassion, courage, and unconditional love. Burial services were private. Friends and loved ones are welcome to pay respects at Pineview Cemetery 59161 Carroll Rd, Slidell, LA 70460.
