Dorothea Rainford

On March 15, 2020, Dorothea Elizabeth Rainford passed away in Columbia MD at the age of 83.

She is survived by Diane Elizabeth Rainford and Spouse Shawn Johnfiah of Glen Burnie MD. Suzanne Marie Howard and Spouse Delano Lavert Howard of Shippensburg PA. Grandchildren Jordan Alexander Howard and Aiden Nicholas Howard. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Stanfield Emlington Rainford, his mother Edna Rainford and father Stanley Rainford of Amity, Savanna-la-Mar, Jamaica WI. Her mother Vi Thompson and father Fitzman Bartley of Annotto Bay, Jamaica WI and Sister Lois Hope Bartley of Brooklyn, New York and many relatives of the Thompson family.

Dorothea Elizabeth Rainford was born September 4, 1934 in Annotto Bay, Jamaica WI. She graduated from boarding school and went on to attend Nursing School at University of West Indies were she specialized in Midwifery.

After she met and married Stanfield Emlington Rainford, they moved to the United States where they welcomed their two daughters, Diane Elizabeth Rainford on February 1, 1964 in Glen Ridge, New Jersey and Suzanne Marie Rainford on June 14, 1968 in Coldwater, Michigan.

She was a dedicated Registered Nurse who was loved by her patients and associates alike. She was equally dedicated to her family and friends. She loved cooking, baking, homemaking, tennis, football, entertaining and travel. Her favorite pastime was dancing with her husband at various events and fetes with friends and family.
