Donna Gay Lairsen, aged 73, passed away peacefully on May 23, 2024. Born on November 27, 1950, in Dallas, Texas to Marjorie Mearle Harrison and John Manford Lairsen Sr., Donna lived a life filled with love, faith, and unwavering dedication to those she cherished.
Growing up in Richardson, Texas, Donna graduated from Richardson High School in 1968 and went on to attend Texas Tech University. In her younger days, she found joy in playing the piano and riding her horses, activities that showcased her zest for life and her multifaceted talents.
Donna's Christian faith was a cornerstone of her existence. It guided her steps and imbued her interactions with kindness, warmth, and a nurturing spirit. These qualities made her an eternal safe space for anyone who needed comfort or a listening ear. Her inquisitiveness and personable nature drew people to her, creating a community of friends and loved ones who felt genuinely cared for and deeply understood.
The role Donna treasured most was that of mother to her beloved daughter, Kristin. She was a constant presence at all of Kristin's events, whether they were sporting competitions or musical performances, demonstrating her fierce loyalty and protective nature. Donna’s love for her daughter knew no bounds, and she did everything in her power to ensure Kristin felt supported and adored.
Donna had a multitude of hobbies that brought her joy and fulfillment. She loved spending time with friends, sharing stories, taking culinary classes, and attending musicals. She was also the ringleader of her water aerobics group, bringing her infectious energy and enthusiasm to every session.
Her love and loyalty extended beyond her family to everyone she met. She made sure people felt cared for and knew they were loved, embodying a selflessness that left a lasting impact on all who knew her.
Donna is survived by her daughter, Kristin Wright; her nieces Jennifer Lairsen and Meghan Van Allen; and her nephews John Lairsen and Travis Lairsen. Her legacy of love, kindness, and unwavering faith will continue to inspire and guide those who were fortunate enough to know her and she will be dearly missed by everyone whose life she touched.
