Got married october 14 2023 and my dad walked me down the aisle it was the happiest memories and the most recently memory i have of my dad i absolutely loved this man he was with me throu think and thing i will forever miss my dad

I met Donnie (as I always called him) at John & Diane's wedding. I could tell two things about him from the beginning. 1- he truly loved and protected his mother and 2-he was a clown. He was a very hard working man as well smart. I remember it was a Sabbath afternoon and we had spent the afternoon at a friend's home in Seaford. On the way home our van began to run hot. Church friends who had been following us gave us a ride home. When I got home I called Diane and told her what had happened. She was telling Donnie about it and he said, "no, Miss Sharon can't leave her van there tonight. Go get her and I'll meet you there to see what I can do." To make a long story short he worked on the van late into the night, determined that we wouldn't be leaving the van there. He didn't have the correct pieces he needed but between him and his son David they Mcgyvered it together and I drove it for some time after that with no problems. That's the kind of man he was. Never gave up. That's how I knew that when he first got cancer that he would fight as hard as he could to survive. When him n Donna lost their home to fire he was working as hard as he could to clear the land and get another home on the lot. Then when cancer reared it's ugly head again he didn't just throw in the towel and give up. He was ready to do whatever he could to survive. He loved life and loved, loved, loved his family and I know they loved him. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family, Diane, Tony, Donna, Shelly, David, Catie & others I don't know. He is and will continue to be loved and missed.
